Prof. Elias B. Kosmatopoulos acts as the Coordinator of AQUAMON. He received his Diploma, M.Sc., and Ph.D. from the Technical University of Crete in 1990, 1992, and 1995, respectively. He is a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace. He is the founder of the ConvCAO research group at CERTH, leading research on adaptive control, optimization, and intelligent systems for IoT, smart grids, robotics, and transportation. He has extensive experience in educational leadership. He has coordinated and participated in numerous Horizon and EU-funded projects and has published over 55 journal articles in his fields of expertise. 


Emmanuel Raptis acts as the first deputy Coordinator of AQUAMON. He received his Diploma, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Automatic Control and Robotics from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, in 2018, 2020, and 2025, respectively. Since 2018, he has been a Research Associate at the Information Technologies Institute (CERTH) in Thessaloniki, Greece, and a member of the ConvCAO team. He has participated in multiple Horizon 2020 and national research projects. His research focuses on Automatic Control, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Decision-Making Systems, with applications in robotics and UAVs. In the current project, he is part of the coordinating team, providing scientific and technical support. 


Athanasios Kapoutsis acts as a deputy coordinator of AQUAMON. He received his Diploma and Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Information Technologies Institute (CERTH) in Thessaloniki, Greece. Over the years, he has been involved in multiple EU FP7, Horizon 2020, and national research projects. His research interests include robotics, machine intelligence, multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning, adaptive control, and pattern recognition. In the project, he provides technical and research support across relevant work packages. 


Panagiotis Raptis acts as a deputy Coordinator of AQUAMON. He received his Diploma from the Department of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2022, and his M.Sc. in Genetics, Plant Breeding, and Plant Propagation Material in 2025. His academic work explored various topics in agricultural and environmental sciences, including plant genetics, omics biology, and precision agriculture, with contributions to scientific publications and conferences. Since May 2025, he has been a Research Associate at the Information Technologies Institute (CERTH), as a member of the ConvCAO team. In the project, he is a member of the AQUAMON coordination Team, providing scientific and management support across relevant work packages.
